Tour Itinerary

The Salar de Uyuni is the highest and largest salt bed in the world. It covers an area greater that 10.000 Km²., and it offers magnificent sights and views unaltered since their formation. We will visit the Isla Pescado (Fish Island) located in the middle of the Salt Bed. The island is formed of petrified algae called estromatolites. In this region some pre-colonial cultures settled leaving behind the testimony of their presence.

Departure from Uyuni to Colchan, a small town where the dwellers make the exploitation and the refining of the salt using salt´s stoves.

Then entrance to Salar, where we will walk around piles of salt and appreciate a show about the salt´s extraction in salt blocks

Then we will look at the eyes of salt and get some souvenirs and handicrafts. Afterwards we will visit the Incahuasi Island (known as the fish Island), where we can appreciate the huge cactus and an amazing landscape from a viewing point.

At noon we will have a Box Lunch in the Island after that we will walk around the place to appreciate the small surroundings islands at the nor east. Return to the Hotel
