Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Potosi - Casa de la Moneda
07:00 Departure from Sucre to Potosí. Arrival in Potosí and transportation to selected Hotel. Lunch.
14:00 City Tour and visit to la Casa de La Moneda (the Potosí Mint). The Toledo Viceroy completed the construction of the “Casa de la Moneda”. In 1572 foundations were placed in the “Plaza del Regocijo” (Main Square known today as “Plaza 10 de Noviembre”), under the supervision of the mason and master builder from Potosi Jeronimo de Leto. This construction was completed in three years.
20:00 Back to the hotel, overnight stay.
Day 2: Cerro Rico de Potosi (Rich Mountain)
08:30 Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to the exterior of the Cerro Rico de Potosí. One of the main tourists’ attractions of the city of Potosi is "Sumaj Orko", better known as “Cerro Rico”. From the depths of this amazing mountain, a huge amount of silver has been extracted relentlessly since 1545. Return to Potosí. Transportation hotel/bus terminal.
17:00 Potosí to Sucre by bus. Arrival in Sucre and transportation.
