These are considered to be the most important sites of rupestrian art anywhere within this zone, exhibiting and enormous variety of magnificent samples.
At about 250 meters from Lajasmayu, there are beautiful paintings scattered all along one of the walls. Around the border there are depictions of various Camelidae species lined-up on rows and anthropomorphic images, which have crosses drawn over them, which clearly express the evangelization process within America. These images are painted with reddish—purple, black and white colors.
(The devil’s Mill) at this place the rupestrian paintings are painted over an oblique wall, the surface of this wall seems to be covered by an arenaceous-ferrous type of stone. We can also appreciate very clearly certain geometric figures (straight and curved lines, spirals, circles, multi-form figures, phyto-morphic figures, etc.), zoomorphic representations (Ruminants and Camelidae) and anthropomorphic figures. Through the paintings we can also perceive several different periods of time (from remote times to the time of the colony, paintings from 400 years to 6,000 years ago) The paintings have a reddish-purple color and some touches of white, black and yellow.
In order to reach this place, it is necessary to go through the community of Supay Molino, where we can find about twenty different paintings, with geometric figures, representations of various types of fabrics, etc. all of them painted with reddish-purple painting.
At this place we can see petroglyphs and pictographs spread all across the place, some of these designs have a basaltic formation. About 40 of these designs painted with red have zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motives. About a hundred different designs have images associated with various hunting activities.
This is an ancient Inca road; it presents a varied array of views. In Pignasi we can find additional remains of rupestrian paintings, especially in the place known as “ El Rincon ” (The Corner).
At 14 kilometers of Potosi there is the Sanctuary of Manquiri (An architectural sample from the XVIII century). In the past, this place used to be worshipped due to its emanations of steam from the thermal waters that flow underground.
The portal of the church has a mixed-breed style, and the fact that the entire structure is white, contrasts beautifully with the reddish mountains that surround it.
