Without any doubt the best time to visit the city of Oruro is in February -during the carnival-, because this splendid celebration is a unique event, able to seduce, to impress and to charm, to any visitor.
During the carnival Oruro changes. It becomes a place of music and dance, of devotion and prayers, of revel and happiness, in which everyone would participate, including the tourists coming from distant lands.
Not even the rain -that is quite frequent in this time of the year and that will force you to wear constantly a raincoat- is able to humidify the enthusiasm of the dancers that travel the city hour after hour, storing in their hearts the applauses of the people that cram the rustic tribunes built to both sides of the streets.
You won't regret visiting Oruro during the carnival, because besides dancing with male and female devils you will be able to discover the culture of the people of the highland.
