


This is a wild-life sanctuary, a natural preserve used to observe birds. It is located at 172 kilometers from the city of Cochabamba, in the Yungas section of Chapare. This area has a humid-tropical weather (28°C).
There is a tine cave, which resembles a small refuge or sanctuary filled with wild-life; it has officially been recognized as a protected area. The caverns are a habitat dedicated to a single species of birds known as “guacharos”, “luceros” or “ave aceitera” (Oily bird). These birds are also known as “blind birds” mostly because they are usually very active at night. Observing these fascinating birds has become the number one attraction of this area.
Llocated at 166 kilometers from the city, it has a humid and tropical weather (28°C). It has a very irregular topography, an abundance of rivers, brooks and natural water wells, many of which have been used by the hotels from the area to offer visitors an opportunity to relax, two such places are “Las Posas” and “El Puente”. This area is part of the Villa Tunari Municipality, which includes the National Machia Park of Ecologic Tourism.
Ideal for ecological tourism, it is located at 16 kilometers from Cochabamba, it has a tropical climate and a total surface of 36 hectares, which shelter more than 1200 different species of trees and a huge variety of fauna (which includes three species of monkeys).
All along this trail (3,2 kilometers in length), there is an amazing panoramic view of the secondary mountain range of the Andes, the eastern prairies and the picturesque water falls.
Which is part of the Carrasco province, it has an average temperature of 30º C. This tropical scenario is located at 194 kilometers from the capital of Cochabamba. Most of the people from the area live from hunting (Species hunted: “Tatu” (Tatouay –Giant Armadillo), “Jochi Pintado” (Stripped Agouti) and “Jochi Colorado” (Red Agouti), the American tiger and the Leopard, the “Taitetu” (Wild Hog), the “Capiguara” (Capybara –Water hog) and the “Anta” (Elk or Tapir) and fishing, mostly “Blanquillo” (White species of fish), Southubí, Pacu (Flat large fish) and “Bufeo” (A type of porpoise or river dolphin typical of Peru and Bolivia). Hunting and fishing is done with certain limitations, mostly due to the spread of the population throughout the area and also because of the conditions of the area which do not facilitate these activities consistently.
The Alalay Lagoon which means "cold lagoon", has in its surroundings (approximately 7 Km.) an asphalted vehicular strip which allows the normal traffic of vehicles. There is also a jogging and bicycle brick circuit with an approximate length of 15 Km. It is recommended to visit this lagoon during spring and summer.
This is a recreational park visited by people of all ages. Apart from many amusing games it presents a sector with tropical plants. This park stands out for its architecture, water fountains and vegetation.
