


Throughout the region there are several beautiful constructions from the XVII century. Inside these amazing constructions we can find a number of paintings and tapestries painted with detailed religious motives, pulpits covered with very delicate engravings, wooden railings and tile roofs, all of which provide clear examples of the architecture of the time.
Some of the most important temples include San Lorenzo, San Ignacio, San Javier, San Francisco de Borja, San Pedro, Templo de Reyes (Temple of the Kings), Templo de la Exaltación de la Santa Cruz (Temple of Exaltation of the Holy Cross) y Nuestra Señora de Santa Ana (Our Lady of Santa Ana), and Baures. Just as important, there are also the temples of San Joaquín, San Ramón and Nuestra Señora María Magdalena (Our Lady Mary Magdalene).
This is the folkloric capital of Beni. Throughout the whole year sports like swimming, water ski, fishing and hiking can be practiced. This town is famous for its annual party in which the residents get dressed as "bulls" and "mamas" and head for the main streets in devotion to San Ignacio. During the festivity stand out the “macheteros” and the groups of musicians that participate with fantastic musical instruments made by themselves. It is a party filled with joy and colors that the visitor cannot miss.
The first jesuit mission built in Moxos. A place of historical and religious importance because in this town the following miracle happened: the image of the virgin of the Loreto spilled tears the days 4, 5, 6 and 7 of October of 1959. Many devoted pilgrims go to Loreto around this date.
It´s name means “Madriguera del Tigre” (Tiger´s lair), because in this place there is a large quantity of these felines. It is one of the 20,000 artificial hills that integrate the hydraulic and agricultural system of the Moxos culture. It has a great historical and cultural wealth because there are remnants of a time prior to the colony days. The Archaeological Museum is estimated to have more than 1,000 pieces of great value.
This ecological centre has routes that link eight artificial hills by means of embankments surrounded by 90 bird species, more than 100 flora species and 15 fish species. Along this trail there are lagoons with a floating island full with trees and variety of ferns and a great number of lizards and alligators. There is also an artificial lagoon ideal for bathing, fishing and navigating.
Riberalta is a town that lies also in the Vaca Díez province. It is attractive for its wooden constructions, palm trees and other goods typical of the region. In spite of being a small town, the streets and avenues are well aligned.
With a population of 80,000 inhabitants, this town has perfectly urbanized streets that contrast the color of the ground with the trees since the streets are made of rubble.
Among its main tourist attractions are the Main Square, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Carmen, the Tahuamanu boat that took soldiers during the Acre war. There is also the Capitanía Port where the crafts that arrive from all the rivers dock. Also, at 8 Km. of Riberalta, there is Arroyo del Prado (stream of el Prado) and an artificial spa with the same name.
It is the main port of the Bolivian north. For gastronomic delight, it is possible to taste delicious plates of fish.
It is known as the cattle capital of Beni, with green prairies suitable for agricultural activity and raising cattle. The suburban area is a tourist attraction because its rivers are ideal for sport fishing.
